Digital dermatoscopy
Dermatoscopy
Dermdoc digital dermatoscopic system helps dermatologists to examine the deeper layers of the skin, and notice disorders invisible to the human eye. This makes diagnosis easier and increases the chance of revealing a malignant melanoma at an early stage.
This non-invasive method is not only painless, but allows the patient to follow the examination on a screen. If noticed at an early stage melanoma can be treated successfully and can be surgically removed.
The sooner the doctors notice the melanoma, the better the chances are for successful therapy, and a less serious surgical operation is required to remove it. Melanoma develops around existing papillomas or on seemingly healthy skin. Pigmented lesions developing in the form of papillomas, existing papillomas (birthmarks), or old age pigmentation can be found on every person on every area of the body. This is why malignant skin disorders, i.e., the formation of a malignant melanoma, are a threat to everyone.
Benefits of the digital dermatoscopy:
- The patient can follow the examination on a screen.
- Exact diagnosis with microscopy– there is no need for biopsy.
- Early recognition of melanoma.
- Unbiased and exact monitoring of high-risk papillomas.
- Clearly distinguishing between benign and malignant pigmented lesions.
- Easy and long term follow-up examination of pigmented lesions.
