Scar treatment

Fractional laser leaves a small spot, that is, a pixel-like lesion on the treated area, leaving the skin around it unharmed. By applying fractional skin rejuvenation, the skin heals much faster than by treating the entire area because the healthy, untreated tissue around the treated area serves as a natural binding agent during the healing process.

In using an ablative laser, fractional skin rejuvenation makes the condition of the skin improve significantly-without the side-effects and the sometimes one-year long, extended renewal process. Following the fractional laser treatment, significant improvement-that is, the final results-are visible after 1-2 months; the skin reproduces collagen and becomes firmer during this period. The structure of the skin begins to improve already 2 weeks after the treatment.

Laser transfers the energy to the surface of the skin. This energy heats up the water in the upper layers of the skin, and as a result the water and the skin tissues also evaporate. Each time the laser ray passes the skin, some of the upper layers of the skin are destroyed in the required depth in a controlled and accurate way. This is followed by a healing process in which new collagen layers are produced. The skin regenerates itself, which means a significant improvement in the appearance of acne, wrinkles, scars or sun-damaged skin.

Important things to note before starting the treatment:

• individual consultation is needed before beginning the treatment
• 1-3 treatments are needed every 4 weeks to reach the required results
• do not expose yourself to direct sunlight 4 weeks before the treatment (using sunscreen is compulsory!)
• if the patient's skin is prone to pigmentation they have to apply skin whitening cream before the treatment
• if the patient is prone to herpes they have to take medication for it before starting the treatment.

Things to note after the treatment:

• after the treatment a strong redness, swelling and sloughing appears on the areas affected for 3-5 days, then the skin begins to slightly exfoliate, and the patient can return to work after 3 days wearing make-up, after about 1 week the marks of the treatment disappear completely
• as a follow-up treatment rinse the treated area with water and apply a thick layer of cream
• during the 4 weeks following the treatment the patient must use a high SPF (at least 50) sunscreen, and those whose skin is prone to pigmentation should apply skin whitening cream
• the treatment can be repeated after 4 weeks
